With one of the largest and most experienced Life Science teams in Northern Europe, we are able to provide expertise across all Life Science fields. More than 90% of our patent consultants hold a PhD, enabling us to work closely with scientists, founders, investors, and innovation teams on highly specialized technologies and commercially complex projects.

What challenges and opportunities do we currently see in the industry?

We see Stockholm as one of the strongest Life Science ecosystems in Europe. The ecosystem’s core lies in the globally recognized institutions such as Karolinska Institutet, Karolinska University Hospital, SciLifeLab and KTH, alongside a growing network of biotech and health tech companies. The Stockholm-Uppsala cluster continues to attract international investment, talent, and innovation, particularly within precision medicine, advanced therapeutics, and digital health.
We recognise that the industry faces a more challenging environment, with selective capital access, increasing competition for specialised talent, and growing regulatory and geopolitical uncertainty. From HØIBERG’s perspective, this makes strategic IP management more important than ever, as strong IP underpins investment, partnerships, and long-term value. Continued collaboration across key stakeholders will remain essential to maintain the global competitiveness of Stockholm and the wider Nordic region.

What is currently at the top of our company’s agenda?
