BIOTECH BUILDERS AWARD.

Each year one exceptional individual receives the Biotech Builders award.
The award serves as a symbol of recognition and appreciation for individual driving forces within the industry who tackles challenges and overcomes obstacles, making significant contributions to Swedish Life Science. The winner of the Biotech Builders Award is announced and presented at the annual Biotech Builders event.

NOMINATION 2024

You can influence who will receive this year’s Biotech Builders Award! By nominating and motivating why the nominee has been important for the Swedish Life Science Industry, you can feature this person at the annual event for the industry leaders. The ideal candidate has a moral and ethical attitude towards the biotech business and should

  • Shown an enterprising spirit through persistence and good leadership

  • Have made significant contributions that lead to a distinctive achievement in the Life Science community

  • Promotes and is passionate about networking

  • Have created unique opportunities which brings the Swedish Life Science industry forward

  • Has become a role model and "go-to" person for others in the industry

WINNER OF 2023.

The winner of BiotechBuilders Award 2023 goes to a person who began his life in Uppsala, pursued a medical education in Lund, completed his specialist training in Linköping, and ultimately defended his thesis at the same institution. He went on to work for the WHO in Laos and for Doctors Without Borders on missions for the Contingencies Agency in Africa.

For most of us, he is best known from television, where he remained steadfast during the COVID-19 pandemic. He became very popular but also faced strong scrutiny when the pandemic hit the world hardest. Despite all the attention, he managed to stand firm in the media storm and delivered a well-thought-out and coherent message despite limited information.

He has likely inspired many students to aspire to become infectious disease specialists. We congratulate our former state epidemiologist, Anders Tegnell, on winning the BiotechBuilders Award for 2023!
