Each year one exceptional individual receives the Biotech Builders award.
The award serves as a symbol of recognition and appreciation for individual driving forces within the industry who tackles challenges and overcomes obstacles, making significant contributions to Swedish Life Science. The winner of the Biotech Builders Award is announced and presented at the annual Biotech Builders event.

The winner of this year’s Biotech Builders Award is: Anna Sandström
Anna Sandström has been deeply committed to ecosystem creation linking policy, industry, academia and healthcare providers. She has over several decades held positions in several important organizations including AstraZeneca, funding bodies (Vinnova), academic boards (KTH, Max IV and the Drug Discovery and Development platform at SciLifeLab), liason roles within industry and industry organizations (e.g. SwedenBio). Anna’s work has had substantial impact on funding and workable policies for collaborative research and development in Sweden. Anna Sandström is a very worthy recipient of BiotechBuilders’ Award 2025.
